Ever wanted to paint with a group and discover a new subject together? Do you love art history and want to get inspired by the old masters or new masters sitting next to you? When the sun sets on the coast and tall ships comes floating by, the drama, romance, and sea-faring characters from history come to mind. This is the inspiration for this event!
A tall ship is a large, traditionally rigged sailing vessel. Popular modern tall ship rigs include topsail schooners, brigantines, brigs, and barques. For more reference images and information about Tall Ships go to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tall_ship#Gallery
In this Pop Up art event, participants will share images, examples, books, and 3 dimensional models of Tall Ships for reference material at the beginning of the session. Then everyone will paint their own interpretation on their own canvases or paper using their own materials. Artists may use watercolor, acrylic, oil or pastel. Just use whatever suits you! This is a great day to get to know other artists and share skills and friendship while painting a similar subject. At the end of the session, the artists will share what they have accomplished in the day of painting tall ships.
